Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Recycling
In addition to residential waste, a large portion of the waste stream in
North Carolina comes from commercial and industrial sources such as businesses, manufacturing plants and schools.
Programs that encourage recycling among the “CII” sector play a key role in reducing the waste stream.
Examples of commercial recycling programs include providing recycling services to businesses, school recycling programs,
and ordinances that require businesses and industries to recycle various paper products.
