Grants and Grant Projects
The N.C. Division of Pollution Prevention and Environmental Assistance (DPPEA) administers the Solid Waste Management Trust Fund, which is used
for grants in support of waste reduction efforts. Grants will be available again
in Spring 2005.
Community Waste Reduction and Recycling Grants (CWRARGs) are available for local governments in three categories: buy recycled, backyard composting, and general.
Counties, municipalities, councils of governments (COGs), solid waste authorities, and not-for-profit agencies in North Carolina are eligible to apply for funding. State, federal and for-profit entities are not eligible for funding through the CWRAR grant cycle.
Ongoing Swap Shop and Pay-As-You-Throw grants are also available. For more
information on the CWRARGs and the Recycling Business Development Grants, or to
apply for a grant, please visit our DPPEA's financial
assistance page.
