Mission

To protect the environment and conserve natural resources by providing technical assistance on the elimination, reduction, reuse and recycling of wastes and pollutants.

Goal 1: Use a systems approach to promote the elimination, reduction, reuse, recycling and proper management of wastes.

1. Identify and promote best management practices through an integrated multimedia approach.
2. Develop the state recycling economy by promoting the efficient and sustainable collection, processing and end use of recycled materials.
3. Promote the principles of Environmental Management Systems.
4. Facilitate the integration of pollution prevention into DENR regulatory, policy and operational activities.

Goal 2: Maintain a high level of operational efficiency and strive for excellence in customer service.

1. Ensure the accountability of all DPPEA employees.
2. Increase awareness of DPPEA’s services to internal and external clients.
3. Identify and implement methods to improve the efficiency of DPPEA’s operations.
4. Seek to understand client needs and measure effectiveness in meeting those needs.
