Make your very own Holiday Crafts using materials from around the house. Get Mom or Dad to help, or ask permission before beginning this project!

Maracas

Supplies Needed:

• 2 used paper or plastic cups (remember to wash them out first)
• Colorful paper or fabric scraps
• Colorful paints (optional)
• Accessories (optional)

*Ex.: Pom-poms, stickers, buttons, etc.

• Duct tape
• White glue
• Uncooked rice or beans or a handful of pennies

Instructions:

• Paint cups color of choice (optional) and let dry
• Use white glue to paste fabric or paper pieces on as decoration
• Use any other material to decorate (optional)
  • *Ex.: Pom-poms, buttons, stickers, etc.
• Let cups dry
• Put a handful of rice, beans or pennies in one cup
• Line up the rims of both cups. Wrap the duct tape around the rims of the cups so the beans do not fall out.
• Add decoration around the center to hide the duct tape
• Shake your maraca!
