Q: Does my local government provide recycling collection at schools?
A: Your local government may already pick up recyclable materials at area schools or contract with a waste hauler for the service. To find out, check out your local government’s Web site or give them a call. To get contact information for your local government, follow this link for Local Waste Reduction Programs And Contacts (http://www.p2pays.org/localgov/PAYT/ncwaste.asp).
Q: Who can pick up my recycling?
A: Find an outlet for your recyclable materials at the Recycling Business Assistance Center’s N.C. Recycling Markets Directory. You can search the Markets Directory by type of recyclable material or the name of a recycling company.
Q: Where can I buy bins?
A: You may be able to find used recycling bins at North Carolina WasteTrader, a marketplace for discarded or surplus materials. If you’re looking for bins but don’t see them currently available, you can also post a listing for people to contact you if they have the material.
There are also several sources from which you can purchase new bins. You can download a list of retailers here.
