Multimedia Environmental Compliance Guide for Food Processors
The purpose of this compliance guide is to help food processors, as defined by former Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code 20, to understand and to improve their compliance with major federal environmental statutes and regulations administered by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA). The guide focuses on regulations that pertain to those food manufacturing operations and selected ancillary operations (e.g., industrial refrigeration) commonly found across different segments of the industry. It also explains EPA's regulation of those inputs to manufacturing that may be defined as toxic or hazardous under various EPA statutes and regulations (e.g., Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act). See this
Fact Sheet for more information about the contents of the compliance guide and how to obtain a copy.
